The parking garage Anna at Drottninggatan in Malmö, Sweden, built 1976 is the first parking garage in Malmö. In 2019-2020, the 13-story car park underwent a renovation of facades, concrete repairs, window cleaning, repainting, new floors and doors, as well as new lighting.
One of the exterior facades is provided with a plant wall with 40 different plant species. On the roof, 1,300 square meters of solar cells are installed, which is estimated to be able to deliver approximately 250,000 kilowatt-hours per year. These should be used to supply the house with electricity.
The project consisted of creating a new lighting design for the exterior facades of the building. The lighting installation is well integrated into the skin of the building making the installation invisible during the day. During the dark hours, the parking garage is transformed into a dynamic, shimmery, starry sky – even a parking garage that can add something interesting and beautiful to the city after dark.
